Cookie Policy
The categories of cookies and similar technologies that may be used on this website, and how the optional ones are controlled.
Effective date20 October 2026
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Marketing Parasite Ltd, trading as Marketing Parasite, uses cookies and similar storage or access technologies on marketingparasite.com.
It should be read together with our Privacy Notice and Cookie Settings.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small data files that a website or service can store on your browser or device. Websites may also use technologies such as local storage, tags, pixels or comparable tools that store information on, or access information from, a device.
Some technologies are necessary for a website to function securely. Others are used for analytics, functionality or advertising and are not necessary for the basic operation of the site.
3. Our consent rule
We use a consent-first rule for non-essential technologies.
- Strictly necessary technologies may operate without an optional consent choice where they are genuinely required for security, network delivery, remembering your privacy choice or providing a service you have specifically requested.
- Analytics, marketing and other non-essential technologies remain off until the required consent has been obtained.
- Rejecting optional technologies will not prevent you from reading our ordinary website content or contacting us through the basic channels we provide.
- You may change your choices at any time through Cookie Settings.
Continuing to browse the website is not treated as consent to optional cookies.
Consent is collected and recorded through Cookiebot by Usercentrics, a certified consent management platform. The banner offers a choice per category, and the categories it shows – Necessary, Preferences, Statistics and Marketing – correspond to categories A to D below (Preferences is the banner’s name for Functional, and Statistics for Analytics).
4. Categories we use or may use
A. Strictly necessary, always active where required
These technologies support functions such as
- website and network security;
- fraud, bot or abuse prevention;
- load balancing and reliable delivery;
- remembering your cookie/consent choice; and
- providing a feature you have specifically requested where the feature cannot operate without the technology.
Because these technologies are necessary for the requested or secure operation of the site, they cannot be switched off through our optional-cookie controls. You can still block cookies through your browser, but doing so may prevent part of the site from working correctly.
One named example falls under the last point above. The booking calendar on our Book a Growth Call screen is provided by Cal.com and embedded on our domain, and it needs its own storage in your browser in order to show you available times and record the slot you choose. You reach it only by opening that screen and choosing the booking option, so it is treated as a feature you have specifically requested, and it loads whichever answer you gave the cookie banner. It is used for scheduling your call and nothing else. It does not advertise to you and it does not measure your visit. If you would rather not use it at all, the WhatsApp number and email address beside it reach the same person.
B. Analytics, optional
Analytics technologies help us understand, in aggregate and at user/session level where applicable, how visitors find and use the website, which parts of the site are useful, where journeys break and whether the site is performing as intended.
We use two analytics services, both delivered through Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager is a loader that sets no cookies of its own. Both services stay switched off until you allow Statistics in the cookie banner, and neither loads at all if you do not.
- Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows how visitors find the site and move through it.
- Microsoft Clarity shows, in aggregate, where visitors click and how far they scroll, and can replay an individual visit with the text you type masked. We use it to find pages that confuse people or break.
Google Consent Mode is set to deny analytics and advertising storage by default. Allowing Statistics grants analytics storage only. It does not switch on any advertising technology.
C. Functional, optional where used
Functional technologies support an enhanced feature you specifically use.
We currently use none. The booking calendar was previously described here. It is now covered by category A above, because it only ever appears where you have navigated in order to book a call, which makes it a feature you specifically requested rather than an optional enhancement.
Should we later add a functional technology that is genuinely optional, one that improves the site without being the thing you came for, it will be listed here and placed behind the Preferences control before it runs.
D. Marketing or advertising, optional
Marketing technologies help us measure whether our advertising works and show our adverts to people who have already visited the site. They stay switched off until you allow Marketing in the cookie banner, and none of them loads at all if you do not.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag tells LinkedIn when a visit came from one of our LinkedIn adverts, and lets us show adverts on LinkedIn to people who have visited this site. LinkedIn reports this to us in aggregate only.
- Google Ads uses the same Google tag as Google Analytics. Allowing Marketing grants advertising storage, which lets Google Ads measure which adverts led to an enquiry and show our adverts to past visitors.
- Meta Pixel tells Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, when a visit came from one of our adverts on those platforms. It also lets us show adverts there to people who have visited this site. Meta reports this to us in aggregate only.
- Reddit Pixel tells Reddit when a visit came from one of our Reddit adverts, and lets us show adverts on Reddit to people who have visited this site. Reddit reports this to us in aggregate only.
Each marketing tag is set up on purpose, listed here, and placed behind the Marketing control before it is allowed to run. Installing a tag manager does not switch any of them on by itself.
5. Third-party providers
Technologies on or connected to the website involve, or may involve, these providers
- Cookiebot by Usercentrics, the consent manager itself, which stores your consent choice (strictly necessary);
- Cloudflare for website delivery and security;
- Cal.com for the embedded booking calendar on the Book a Growth Call screen, as a feature you specifically requested (strictly necessary);
- Google for Analytics, only after you allow Statistics;
- Microsoft for Clarity, only after you allow Statistics;
- Google for Google Ads measurement and remarketing, only after you allow Marketing;
- LinkedIn for the LinkedIn Insight Tag, only after you allow Marketing;
- Meta for the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram adverts), only after you allow Marketing;
- Reddit for the Reddit Pixel, only after you allow Marketing.
The live Cookie Settings interface should identify any third party that sets or accesses a non-essential technology and explain the purpose before consent is requested.
6. The live cookie inventory
Cookie names and durations depend on the exact production configuration and can change when a provider updates its technology.
For that reason, the authoritative live inventory is the declaration below. It is generated by our consent platform’s scanner, which re-scans the website on a schedule, so it updates itself when the technologies in use change. It states, for each technology, its name, provider, category, purpose and duration.
7. Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can revisit Cookie Settings at any time and change your optional choices.
Withdrawing consent stops future use of the affected optional technologies after your new choice is saved. It does not make processing that was lawful before withdrawal unlawful.
Your browser also allows you to delete stored cookies and other site data. Browser-level deletion is separate from our consent record, so you may be asked for your preferences again after deleting storage or using a new browser/device.
8. External websites
If you follow a link to another website or platform, that service may use its own cookies or similar technologies. Our Cookie Settings control governs technologies operating through marketingparasite.com; it does not control an independent third-party website after you leave our domain.
9. Updates
We will update this policy when the technologies or purposes used on the website materially change. The effective date at the top will be updated when a revised policy is published.
10. Contact
